Mastered My Menstrual Phases: A Hands-On Guide to Cycle Harmony and Womb Care

by | Dec 9, 2025 | Health, Wellness

Forget fighting your period; it’s time to work with your body. This is your personal guide to harnessing your monthly superpowers.

Part 1: Setting Your Intention

From Coping to Curation: Understanding Your Cycle Your Super Power

I have a secret I’ve been dying to finally tell you… after trial and error I mastered my pains during my menstrual cycle, and you’re the first to know. This is a personal hands-on guide to womb healing by Cee.

I’ve put these into parts so you know your steps. I have also added a freebie at the end of this blog so you can go to it soon as you get to your luteal phase.

My surgery last year made me realise how much my hormones were not balanced. This was my journey to recovery. We are always told to not worry about when we are feeling off, bloated, if we have been recently diagnosed with fibroids, endometriosis and other women’s health. Little did you know they are all signs that something is off with our body.

Remember our cycle is our super power. We have super powers that communicate signals to either slow down, re-energise, enjoy the moment and rest. How? Well, did you know our bodies go through four seasons monthly.

Each week tells us:

  • Exactly what our body needs whether that’s peak creativity or deep, restorative rest.
  • What type of energy we should lean into like the fresh motivation of Spring or the confident radiance of Summer.
  • How we should adjust our nutrition and care focusing on warming foods in Winter (Menstruation) or cooling foods in Summer (Ovulation).

This blog is your key to unlocking that wisdom. It’s about shifting from simply coping with symptoms to actively curating a life that aligns with your body’s monthly rhythm.

Part 2: The Four Seasons of Your Body

Your Four Seasons of Your Body – From Eat For Your Cycle Workshop

Each phase has its own power and wisdom, meaning each week you indulge into a “new you”. When you tune into your hormone shifts, you can strategically plan your food, your workouts, and even your creative energy around them.

Here is where I’ll take you through each phase and dive into what you should focus on eating more.

Menstrual Phase: Your Winter (Day 1-7 approx)

This phase is your Winter, a time to deep rest, release any tension, and reflect. During this phase, your hormones (Estrogen and Progesterone) drop, energy slows down, and your body is asking for rest. Think of this as a powerful reset button for yourself.

Iron-Rich & Warming Foods

Nourish what you are losing. Focus on iron-rich foods and embrace warming foods like soups, stews, and herbal teas.

Your Winter Self-Care Note: This is the most important time to give your body permission to pause. If you feel tired, rest. If you crave warmth, choose soups over salads. This is where we lay the foundation for healing, which we will deeply support with the Castor Oil ritual in Part 3.

Follicular Phase: Your Spring (Post-Bleeding to Ovulation)

As you stop bleeding, your body is entering its Spring. This is the phase of renewal, motivation, and creativity. Your Estrogen begins its slow, steady climb, waking up your energy. You feel fresh, motivated, and open to new ideas. This is your time for planning, brainstorming, and starting new projects.

Follicular Phase

These foods support new growth and energy. Focus on probiotic foods, Vitamin K, and light proteins.

Ovulation Phase: Your Summer (Mid-Cycle)

Everyone can agree that when you are in your Ovulation phase, you feel the best of the best, inside out. This is your hormonal peak. Estrogen & LH are at their highest levels. You feel you can communicate, socialise, you feel confident and radiant.

Ovulation Phase

This is your most confident and radiant time. Protect your energy and cool your system by focusing on antioxidants and cooling foods. Ensure good fiber and lean proteins are being eaten during this phase.

Luteal Phase: Your Autumn (Post-Ovulation to Bleeding)

As you transition towards rest, you enter your Autumn. This phase requires grounding, as you may feel a bit more sensitive, cravings increase, and your mood shifts. During the Luteal phase, your Progesterone is dominant. This is where your energy begins to dip. This is the time for nesting, organising, and finishing tasks. Be kind to yourself as you transition inwards.

Luteal Phase

To support your hormones during this phase especially, focus on magnesium -rich foods. Embrace grounding comfort meals and complex carbs. Always listen to your body and respond with kindness. Allow yourself to relax and focus on nourishing your body.

Food is Communication, Not Control

When you connect each phase with its food focus, everything becomes much easier to handle with nourishment.

Remember, food doesn’t only fuel us; food is a communication that either supports our hormones or disrupts them.

What supportive foods do:

  • Balance Estrogen through fiber and liver-supportive foods. Fiber helps remove excess estrogen naturally through the gut.
  • Reduce Inflammation through antioxidants and omega-3s. Anti-inflammatory foods calm the entire system, making it easier for your body to heal.
  • Rebuild Blood and Tissue through iron and clean proteins (e.g., halal meat and grass-fed options). Healthy fats & proteins give your hormones the building blocks they need.
  • Support Detox Pathways through hydration and vegetables. Hydration is underrated; even mild dehydration can worsen cramps and fatigue.

Part 3: The Ritual of Mastery

Castor Oil Massage

Deep Womb Care: Castor Oil & Abdominal Ritual

As much as nutrition and understanding your phases is important, hands-on womb care is equally vital.

Here is my personal ritual. I use this just before and during the start of my Winter (Menstrual) phase to release the tensions I normally get when I’m about to start on my period.

I’ve been doing this for 6 months now and I’ve seen a difference: my periods are shorter, I have less cramping (only feel the slightest cramp on the first day and can still do the lightest things), and then it gets much easier and lighter.

When your body is shedding its lining, circulation and detoxification are key. This is where a gentle, warming Castor Oil Abdominal Massage becomes a profound act of self-care and a pillar of your womb healing.

What is Castor Oil? Castor oil is a thick, nutrient-rich oil used traditionally for its anti-inflammatory properties and its ability to support blood circulation and detoxification pathways. Applying it with heat and massage helps to soothe discomfort, reduce bloating, and increase lymph flow in the area that needs it most.

Embrace the Flow: Listening to Your Body is Your Superpower

You’ve learned that mastering your menstrual cycle isn’t about ignoring it or pushing through discomfort; it’s about becoming fluent in your body’s communication. It’s about matching your energy to your inner season, whether you need the productivity of Summer (Ovulation) or the deep, gentle kindness required in Winter (Menstruation).

Healing isn’t about restriction; it’s about nourishment and self-trust. This is one part of the Her Body Her Power Community workshop we just hosted a few weeks back. That nourishment comes from food, and that self-trust comes from intentional rituals like the one you just learned.

Remember the power of the mantras we shared across your inner seasons:

  • Winter: “My Body is Wise & Deserves Rest”
  • Spring: “I’m Open to New Energy & Growth”
  • Summer: “I Glow From Within & Attract What’s Meant For Me”
  • Autumn: “I Listen To My Body & Respond With Kindness”
